Spring Break: April 2 Roveniemi

We finally arrived at our final destination- Rovaniemi, Finland, which is the home of Mr. Santa Clause! After a 10 hour train ride we arrive a few miles south of the Arctic Circle.

After we check into our hotel, we take a bus to Santa. It was 10 am, and the point of the year with the LEAST tourists. We had the whole place to ourselves, which was awesome because we wanted to act like weirdo children!

We played on this ice slide for over an hour until a 6 year old showed up.

Dude- it's a real reindeer... and a little sad looking.

Letters to Santa in freken April

The bus we took!
After a long day of being awesome we went to the world's most northern McDonalds!
Yeah, C3PO was in my happy meal. nbd.

After 2 weeks of fun and not eating, we left with a 40 picture of Santa. Totally worth it- because we made illegal copies.

Spring Break: March 30 Helsinki

We arrive in Finland! It is a little north of Stockholm, and, therefore colder. As you can see there is far more snow and ice in the land of lakes (which is a nick name for Finland because of all the... well, you know- lakes).

The buildings get less viking like and more Russian. The city had a variety of structures, and we spent a lot of time taking pictures of them.
This is an underground church!

This is the rail station.

Erica finally started to understand how to navigate a map. Seriously, she had no idea how to in the beginning of our trip.
A stuffed reindeer!
The meal we ate in every country......
We found a free museum and acted like the children we are.

After two days in the city of Helsinki, we take a 10 hour train to Rovaniemi, which is almost near our ultimate destination, SANTA!!!!

Erica's tiny body fits easily, and she can sleep well. I could too because of Nyquil!
The train had tiny seats you fold from the wall in extremely tight halls- I have no idea why.

Spring Break: March 29 MY BIRTHDAY

Last day in Sweden, and we tried sneaking into museums and stole gummy sharks. Here is a perfect snap shot of me doing both! Ah, to be 26.How were we to leave Sweden? On a boat again! Headed toward Finland. The view was absolutely amazing.

This boat was themed New York style! It was weird for me. Really really weird.

We were running out of money fast, so we had to improvise my birthday feast.

My birthday cake was a little disappointing, but delicious.

Just like home!
